TIME TRIAL RESULTS - 2019
SCA Championship Hill Climb
Richard Cartland (Southdowns Bikes/CASCO) is the fastest rider on the day and successfully defends his SCA title. He also completed the double by retaining his SCA Vets title for the event.
Alice Gilmore (Brighton Mitre) took the womens title, whilst her brother James Gilmore took the junior title. It was a good day all round for Brighton Mitre as they claimed the team title. The points that Tom Houghton (Brighton Excelsior CC) scored were sufficient for him to leapfrog Howard Bailey in the SCA Points Competition and to become the 2019 SCA Points Champion. |

SCA Championship 15
Due to roadworks this event was held on a decidedly SPOCO emergency course created specially for the occasion. Somewhat frustratingly the roadworks were removed just before the event but it was too late to switch back to the usual G15/93. However the revised route proved to be popular and will be used next season.
NEW SCA RECORDS SET
Despite the arduous course profile new SCA records were set:
Pete Tadros, Will Reeder, Conall Yates (trainSharp) set a new team 15 mile Championship record time of 1:38:39 which was 2 mins 8 seconds faster than the mark set by South Downs Bikes last season. Chris Lord (Brighton Excelsior CC) set a new Vets 15 mile Championship record of +11:17 which beat the previous record by a remarkable 2 mins 1 second. This adds to the 25 mile SCA record that he attained last month. Theo Tadros set a new mark for the Juniors with a fine 34:30. VTTA RECORDS
Some existing VTTA Surrey/Sussex age records were beaten as well:
V47 Nik Allen (Worthing Excelsior CC) 32:14 V48 Peter Tadros (trainSharp) 32:33 V49 Ben Cumpstone (Brighton Mitre CC) 33:50 V66 Chris Lord (Brighton Excelsior CC) 34:05 V78 Alan Robinson (Central Sussex CC) 42:30 |
